Football: Kawasaki earn 1-1 draw in storm-postponed J1 match at Urawa

SAITAMA, Japan (Kyodo) — Kawasaki Frontale salvaged a 1-1 draw at Urawa Reds in the J-League first division on Friday after their match, postponed roughly three months ago due to a thunderstorm, resumed from the second half.

Trailing by a goal, the visitors leveled in the 55th minute when forward Yu Kobayashi scored a looping header off left-back Sota Miura’s cross at Saitama Stadium.

Attacker Ryoma Watanabe had steered in a low left-wing cross to give Urawa a 23rd-minute lead in the first half played on Aug. 24.

Urawa moved up to 10th on 47 points, while Kawasaki are a point behind in 13th.
